Portable sound recording?

Ben asked:
Does anybody know of a good audio recording device…
I was looking at the Zoom h2 or h4 or something from Edirol…
I need something good for recording voice, something that will get rid of the fuzzy background noise like some top quality ones.
But I don’t really anything more then $75 to buy this with so I could really use some suggestions.

If what you mean by “voice” is the spoken word, then any of the inexpensive digital recorders will work OK. Olympus makes several that are around $75. Try Walmart, Best Buy, Target, Staples etc if you are in the US.
You may have to experiment with the volume level when recording though. It is best to be pretty close to the person speaking or the loudspeaker to get good sound without a lot of background noise. If you are too close to the loudspeaker, you may overload the recorder, so you will need to test it.
